Sharing the beauty in life...

We're blessed to have a public greenway here in Salem Virginia and this is one of my favorite places to walk as the sun goes down. Usually I choose a color palette of 5 or 6 full chroma colors but for this painting I decided to experiment with mostly earth colors. Making a chart of all the earth colors I have in several values gave me clues to their possibilities. It was interesting to see how far I could take the painting without using the normal colors I use.  I've included a photo of my chart here (please excuse the handwriting!) but unless you mix it yourself you won't learn what you could about each color's transparency, intensity etc. Take one earth color and mix it with each of your "normal palette colors" and you'll learn even more.
